  1. I would say The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, also The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, Rules of the Wild by Francesca Marciano, The Zahir by Paulo Coelho, and The History of Love by Nicole Krauss.
